The yearly wrap up of TV ratings is in, and according to the OzTAM figures for the five metro city audiences show the clear winner is, of course, sport.

Seven nabbed the shiny crown with its coverage of the AFL Grand Final, with the presentations clocking up 3.2 million viewers and its actual Sydney VS Western Bulldogs game nabbing 3.08 million. The post game coverage also made it into fifth position with 2.34 million viewers.

The Rugby League Final on Nine scored bronze with 2.67 million viewers, while State of Origin’s first match – also on Nine – came in fourth with 2.63 million.

The leading entertainment program was awarded to Seven’s mini series MollyPart 1, which landed in seventh place with 2.22 million viewers. The Block finale where the winners were announced on Nine followed with 2.2 million.

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules winners’ announcement beat the same episode of Ten’s Masterchef, with the programs snagging 2.096 million and 1.999 million, respectively.

In numbers 14, 15 and 16 were the MKR final, The Block grand final and Molly: Part 2, respectively.

Other notable entrants in the top 20 included The Melbourne Cup Race on Seven and Seven’s 2016 Australian Open Men’s Final, at 12th and 20th place.
