December marks the moment to look back on the laughs, connections and memories that defined the year. Snapchat has unveiled Snapchat Recap 2025—a personalised short video for every Snapchat user, showcasing standout moments from their Snaps, Stories and Chats.
In 2025, friendship, creativity and connection were at the heart of how users used the platform. From spontaneous Snaps to long chats, friends showed up for each other more than ever.
Below are some of the global trends that shaped how Snapchatters stayed close this year:
Talking Made a Comeback
Users spent nearly 1.7 billion minutes talking every day on average—up almost 30 per cent year-on-year—proving that real conversation is far from dead.
Visuals Took Over the Chat
Chat Reactions surged by 44 per cent, with the heart reaction taking the top spot. An additional three million people used stickers to communicate this year, while the 6/7 Bitmoji Sticker became the most-used sticker since launch.
Pop Culture Showed Up in Bitmoji
This year’s most-requested Bitmoji-inspired hairstyles included the slicked-back bun, broccoli hair and curtain bangs—a reflection of this year’s biggest style trends.
A Big Year for the Group Chat
The number of people messaging their group chats grew by more than 5 per cent, and some of the most active users sent over 8,880 messages to their top Group Chat in 2025.
