City Of Hobart Reveals ‘Climate Ready Hobart’ Campaign To Spotlight It’s Work On Climate Change Via Showpony

Showpony has partnered with the City of Hobart to launch ‘Climate Ready Hobart’, a new campaign celebrating the people, projects and everyday actions helping build a more climate ready city.

Climate change can often feel overwhelming. Instead of focusing on the scale of the challenge, Climate Ready Hobart shines a light on the momentum already building across the city, celebrating the people and projects proving that small actions, taken together, can create meaningful change.

From restoring local habitats and greening neighbourhoods to creating healthier buildings and reducing emissions, the campaign showcases the individuals, businesses and community groups already making a difference, while encouraging more Hobartians to be part of the city’s climate ready future.

Nic Maumill, creative director at Showpony, said the creative challenge was to tell a different kind of climate story.

“We wanted to move away from the usual climate messaging. People have heard the problem. What they needed to see was that progress was already happening. By telling real stories from across Hobart, the campaign shows that climate action isn’t something abstract or out of reach, it’s already part of our community. We hope people see themselves in those stories and feel inspired to add their own.”

Jessica Robbins, climate futures lead, City of Hobart said the campaign was inspired by the positive momentum already building across Hobart.

“When I look around Hobart, I don’t just see the challenges of climate change, I see people already making a difference. I see communities coming together, people restoring our natural environment and businesses finding better ways to do things. Climate Ready Hobart is about celebrating that momentum and inviting more people to be part of it.”

With a goal of zero emissions by 2040, Hobart leads the nation in its strategy and response to the climate and biodiversity emergency. City of Hobart joins only 120 cities across the world to achieve an ‘A’ score on the prestigious CDP A-List for global climate action and environmental transparency.

The integrated campaign spans film, digital, social media, outdoor and community engagement, sharing authentic local stories that demonstrate climate action is already happening across the city.
