Australian ethical dog food company, Scratch Pet Food, has created an outrageous dog park activation for Melbourne pooches, in an effort to meet its consumers in real life and reward them for their loyalty.
Scratch Patch is the fanciest, most extravagant dog park a pet could dream of, complete with every obstacle, treat and play area a dog could ever need.
Open every day at Fitzroy’s Edinburgh Gardens until 27 March, Scratch Patch boasts on-site obstacle courses, totem tennis, swimming pools, a stick library for dogs to borrow from, a tuck shop packed full of healthy Scratch dog food and treats, and plenty of colourful installations for humans to take some happy snaps of their pups having the time of their lives.
The experiential activation was conceptualised by the Scratch team during Melbournes Covid lockdowns, in an effort to connect with its customers in real life after so much time kept apart.
“Melbourne is our hometown and we feed nearly 10,000 dogs here, but haven’t been able to meet any since the pandemic hit,” said Scratch co-founder, Mike Halligan.
“So to show them just how much we love and miss them, we’ve decided to create the ultimate experience where dogs can just be dogs.
“Our furry friends kept us going through lockdowns, so to thank them for their loyalty, we’ve spared absolutely nothing when building Scratch Patch.”
Last month, Scratch became the first B Corp Certified dog food company in Australia, and is now striving to be a world leader in sustainable and responsible business. Scratch donates two per cent of all its revenue to charities and nonprofits that focus on dog welfare and climate action.
It is also the first dog food in Australia to reveal exact percentages of ingredients on its packaging.
“We’re committed to supporting healthy, happy dogs around Australia and giving back in every way that we can, so opening Scratch Patch to bring fun and enjoyment to the community was a no-brainer,” added Halligan.
Scratch Patch will run from 5 to 27 March at Edinburgh Gardens in Fitzroy North. The event is free for Scratch customers and City of Yarra residents, and $10 for everyone else.
