SCA Backflips On Planned Rebrand Of Tasmanian TV News Offering With Seven

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has reneged on the planned rebrand of a news service in Tasmania with the Seven Network.

SCA announced in June that Southern Cross Television in Tasmania would be renamed Seven Tasmania from the beginning of July 2018.

However, a statement issued by SCA said it has altered the timeline of this rebrand “due to unforeseen circumstances and subsequent contractual negotiations with Seven”, but “changes will be fulfilled imminently”.

“As part of the original rebrand strategy, it was stated that the local news bulletin, Southern Cross News Tasmania, would be renamed Seven News Tasmania,” the statement said.

“SCA would like to inform viewers that this will not be happening. A new name for the news service will be announced in due course.”
