Samsung’s New Eco-Packaging Can Double As Your Pet’s New Home

Samsung’s New Eco-Packaging Can Double As Your Pet’s New Home

Samsung is reimagining the purpose of packaging with its new line of ‘eco-packing’,

When a customer orders a product from Samsung’s Lifestyle TV portfolio, it will come in the new packaging, which is made from eco-friendly corrugated cardboard.

This high-tech cardboard is not made to be thrown into the recycling bin however. Customers are encouraged to instead cut the boxes into various other uses, such as small end tables or houses for pets.

There is a dot matrix design applied to each side of the boxes, allowing customers to cut their chosen design.

“Consumers are more likely to purchase from a brand that shares similar fundamentals and values as they do, and with our eco-packaging, we believe that we can provide our customers with a new experience that considers the environment as an important way to express themselves,” said Samsung Electronics executive vice president Kangwook Chun.

To celebrate the rollout of the eco-packaging, Samsung and British lifestyle magazine Dezeen are holding a global design competition.
