Pinterest is launching its first-ever holiday gift guide, enabling brands to directly inspire shoppers through curated boards of shoppable items.

People have always come to Pinterest to shop. And now, with increasing searches for gift inspiration for teachers, partners, co-workers, friends and neighbours, in particular, Pinterest has created a feature to highlight products that will help Pinners discover, browse and shop their ideal gifts for these groups in a new way, this season.

In Australia, brands including MECCA, Officeworks, and Kmart have all selected products which align with the platform’s gift-recipient-focused guides, with a special ‘2022 Gift Guide’ badge spotlighting the selected items across feeds.

Lottie Laws, sales director at Pinterest said: “People love shopping on Pinterest, whether to find something for themselves or a really special gift for a friend or loved one. And because people come to the platform with a commercial mindset but are undecided on exactly what they’re looking for, they actually want to hear from brands and get inspiration from the ads they see. Our new holiday gift guide offers a curated spotlight of items from multiple brands, making the shopping experience even easier for Pinners searching for gift inspiration this season.”

Hannah Fillis, head of the digital at MECCA said, “Pinterest insights help us see what our audience is feeling inspired by online, and ultimately, what they’ll likely be purchasing soon to make that inspiration a reality.

“We’re excited to feature in Pinterest’s first ever Holiday Gift Guide, letting us reach shoppers at the start of the festive season with beauty products and gift ideas that we know are exactly what they’re looking for.”.

Ann-Claire Paton, head of client partnerships at Resolution Digital said: The Holiday campaign is one of the biggest and most important moments in the year for MECCA, and therefore the Resolution Digital team knew they needed to look for the most standout moments to bring the campaign to life.

“The resolution team worked closely with various partners to find what new opportunities they could leverage, to really bring to life the MECCA holiday campaign.

“One of these moments was the new to market and a first gift guide with Pinterest. The Resolution Digital team, MECCA and Pinterest worked closely together to curate relevant pins to target various audiences to ensure that people could find gifts for their partners, friends, parents & even their teachers. The campaign is now live and will run till the 24th December.”
