The Women in Media Awards has wrapped up for another year, as the industry celebrated its best and brightest females in style – and we have the pics to prove it.

The annual awards programme ran for the sixth time on Friday night at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf and was our biggest Women in Media Awards to date, with over 500 attendees.

The sold-out event was presented by Bauer Media for the third year in a row, and recognised industry power women in 21 categories as well as 30 Power List winners.

Hosted by SBS World News presenter Janice Petersen, the awards were presented over the course of a celebratory gala dinner, before a fabulous after-party commenced.

Opening up the night, David Hovenden, editor-in-chief of B&T and owner of its publishing house, The Misfits Media Company, stressed the importance of equality – both in this industry, and in the world.

“Equality, inclusion and optimism have been three things we have held dear at The Misfits since we founded the company four years ago,” he said.

“Equality not only is the moral thing to do – it’s smart business practice.”

This year, hundreds of entries were whittled down to 18 winners – and we couldn’t be prouder of these inspiring women and their efforts in the industry.

A massive congrats to Women in Media Power List winner Aimee Buchanan (OMD), Woman of the Year Kirsty Muddle (Cummins&Partners), Lifetime Achievement award winner Ita Buttrose and People’s Choice winner Doris Li (Bastion Collective).

You can check out the winners (and all the pics of them) here, and more on that Power List here. A big thanks again to our wonderful sponsors and we’ll see you all next year!
