Optus has appointed Lauren Dawber as its new executive general manager of marketing, following an executive recruitment process.
Since joining Optus in 2023, she has held senior leadership roles across the marketing portfolio, including head of media, operations and performance.
Dawber fills the marketing hot seat vacated by former marketing leader Cameron Luby, who became the CMO of Lyka at the start of this year
Her appointment comes at an important time as Optus continues to build momentum in how it delivers for customers, including through the recent launch of its ‘We’re On It’ campaign.
“Lauren’s appointment reflects the importance of strong, customer-focused leadership and the critical role marketing plays in how Optus delivers for customers as the company continues to build a better and more trusted Optus,” Optus chief corporate affairs and marketing officer Felicity Ross said.
“Lauren is a highly regarded marketing leader with a strong track record in building customer-led brands and leading high-performing teams.
“She has already made a significant contribution since joining Optus, strengthening our marketing capability and helping shape how we connect with customers.
“Her role will be central to how we bring our focus on championing the customer to life — ensuring we show up in a way that is clear, consistent and grounded in what matters most to our customers and Australians.
“This is an important time for Optus as we continue to strengthen how we deliver for customers. Lauren’s appointment reflects both the progress underway and our commitment to having the right leadership in place to support our ambition of becoming a better Optus – one that is easier to trust and easier to choose.”
Last week, Dawber was on a panel discussing Marketing’s Next Big Headache at Cairns Crocodiles.
