OMD Melbourne Boss Margie Reid Quits (With Rumours She’s Off To THINKERBELL)

OMD has announced the departure of its Melbourne managing director, Margie Reid, who is “leaving to explore other opportunities”.

Reid is rumoured to be heading to recently-launched creative agency THINKERBELL, which is currently in the market for a new MD.

B&T contacted both Reid and THINKERBELL co-founder Adam Ferrier for comment, but both are yet to reply.

Reid has spent the last 11 years at OMD, having started in 2005. She was promoted to general manager and head of trading in 2012, before being named managing director of OMD Melbourne in 2014.

OMD Australia CEO Aimee Buchanan said Reid’s impact on the Melbourne business has been enormous.

“She has led the Melbourne team through a significant period of growth and has been a key member of the leadership team,” Buchanan said.

“We thank her for the amazing job she has done and wish her all the very best in her new endeavours.”

According to an OMD statement, Buchanan and Omnicom Media Group CEO for Australia and New Zealand, Peter Horgan, will work with OMD’s Melbourne leadership team to oversee the operation until a replacement is appointed.
