New South Wales cabinet minister Victor Dominello sought medical attention after his appearance at a press conference caused public concern.
Yesterday, at the daily NSW COVID-19 press conference, Dominello appeared to have a droopy eye. Arguably, this was more concerning than when Dr Kerry Chant’s glasses were broken at a presser.
The digital and customer service minister received concerned feedback after the conference with the general public voicing concerns for his health, some even contacted his office!
The concern prompted Dominello to seek medical treatment and he was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. Bell’s palsy is a disease where your facial muscles weaken or you experience temporary paralysis.
The disease is temporary, but many medical experts believe it can be brought on by stress, and considering the state of NSW currently, this makes sense – 681 COVID-19 cases today.
Dominello took to Twitter and Linkedin to explain what happened.
At this morning’s press conference – a number of people commented on my droopy eye.
I have actually been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

Dominello, said in a statement, “I have actually been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.
“About 48 hours ago – I felt a pain in my skull behind my right ear. This morning I woke up with pins and needles on the right side of my tongue. But I did not notice any droopiness around my eye.
“I only took it more seriously this afternoon – after a number of people sent me a screenshot of the press conference and others contacted my office prompting me to seek urgent medical advice.”
However, it is not all good news. Dominello’s Bells palsy diagnosis has now made anti-vaxxers take to Twitter to blame the diagnosis on the cabinet minister getting jabbed.
Mate, you need to be upfront and honest and tell everyone this is from the jab you received on 27 May.

B&T would like to make it clear their views are completely unfounded and we’d recommend getting jabbed for your own safety, and so you can finally go and drink a beer at a pub once again.
