Eight Communications has been appointed to manage strategic communications for Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, supporting the resort through its next chapter as it undertakes a more than $20 million accommodation transformation.
Located at Twin Waters on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the resort is currently refreshing 178 guestrooms, including One- and Two-Bedroom Deluxe Rooms and Deluxe Rooms, with the first newly refurbished Deluxe Rooms soon to be welcoming guests. Scheduled for completion in February 2027, the project represents the latest phase of investment in one of Queensland’s most established and recognisable coastal resorts.
Eight Communications will oversee media relations, brand storytelling, media famil programs, partnerships and influencer engagement, building awareness of the investment across the leisure, group and business events markets.
“Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort has long been a favourite with holidaymakers and conference organisers, with generations of guests creating memories here,” said Angela Cowley, managing director of Eight Communications.
“This revitalisation is an exciting opportunity to reconnect past guests with a place they love and introduce new travellers to everything it offers. From the private beach-lined lagoon and overwater bungalows to the expansive grounds and convention facilities, there’s so much that makes this property special, and we’re excited to help tell its story.”
“Same Sunshine, New Chapter’ captures what this investment means for Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort,” said Michael Daviss, Shakespeare Property Group portfolio general manager.
“We’re introducing refreshed, contemporary accommodation inspired by our coastal surroundings while retaining the sense of space, connection and relaxation that has always defined a stay here. We’re delighted to partner with Eight Communications as we welcome guests to experience the reimagined resort and everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.”
The accommodation revitalisation forms part of a broader program of investment delivered by Shakespeare Property Group since acquiring the property in 2018, including upgrades to the lobby, Executive Rooms, overwater bungalows, resort pool, gymnasium and a new Convention Centre.
Recent client appointments for Eight Communications include Grand Saddles Lodge and Saddles Mount White, Levantine Hill Hotel, Andaz Gold Coast, Atura Oran Park, Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce, The Alva Hotel Brisbane, Seabourn and Chiswick Woollahra, joining an established portfolio that includes Pan Pacific Hotels Group, InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, Solotel, AAT Kings and more.
