Bastion Aotearoa has won Maritime New Zealand’s creative and media account following a competitive pitch.
Bastion’s Wellington team will lead strategy, creative and media, developing work designed to influence safer boating behaviours and make a meaningful difference to communities across Aotearoa.
With approximately 1.7 million people taking part in recreational boating activities each year and an average of 17 lives tragically lost annually, the need to drive meaningful behaviour change on the water remains critical.
For Bastion, the appointment represents an opportunity to bring together deep audience understanding, strategic thinking and creative expertise to tackle a challenge that goes well beyond traditional marketing.
“The work that Maritime New Zealand do is a perfect fit for us. It’s a concerted effort to improve the lives of all New Zealanders,” said Bastion Aotearoa managing director Fleur Head.
“The team at Bastion Aotearoa are the behaviour change experts with a proven track record. We’re looking forward to working with them,” said Maritime New Zealand senior advisor marketing Adrian Stephenson.
Work is already underway, with Bastion Aotearoa collaborating closely with AWE and Dioscuri to bring together the specialist capabilities needed to deliver meaningful impact ahead of the summer boating season.
The appointment further strengthens Bastion Aotearoa’s Wellington offering and demonstrates the value of its integrated model, connecting strategy, creative and media to address complex challenges and deliver work that makes a real difference.
