Last week Bras N Things launched a “Big Boob Energy,” campaign via Fabric. However, it has been met with a mixed reception online.
The Bras N Things campaign slogan stems from a play on big dick energy (BDE). A viral term that made the rounds thanks to Pete Davidson.
Basically, some men have a vibe that they have big penises. BDE became a viral internet slang, so Bras N Things came up with, “Big Boob Energy!”
Forget BDE; It is all about BBE.
The campaign launched and also announced an extension of its size range. However, the brand is still only going up to an H cup.
It has been met with mixed reviews online, with some customers claiming the bra company still isn’t size-inclusive enough and other customers expressing disappointment that the brand doesn’t look out for its smaller-breasted customers.
One consumer wrote on Instagram, “Can you get some more smaller sizes too? Almost impossible to find an 8A in any of the pretty stuff.”
The consumer has a point. On The Bras N Things website, there are only two 8A options.
Another wrote, “So anyone with bigger than H cups misses out again 😢 so disappointing and not at all size-inclusive.”
“I don’t understand that you’ve been the leading bra retailer for decades, yet still refuse to cater to all sizes. Up to H is not good enough.”
Perhaps this campaign has also gotten such a mixed reaction because Big Dick Energy clearly pushes forward the idea that the bigger penis, the better. Similarly, when you rework the tagline to talk about boobs: Big Boob Energy.
The brand is inadvertently telling customers bigger boobs are better, and ironically the brand still isn’t catering to all boobs.
