MYER’s National PR Manager Exits The Company

Melbourne, Australia - December 26, 2016: Three ladies enter the Myer store at Bourke Street Mall. The department store was open for Boxing Day sales.

Industry heavy-weight Gemma Sampson has returned to boutique, strategic communications agency Kate & Co. PR in a contract role, after 7+ years at national retailer MYER, to assist with the notoriously frenetic Spring PR season.

Gemma, who was one of Founder and Director Kate Keane’s first employees at Kate & Co. PR, will be based in Melbourne, imparting her inimitable, senior fashion and racing experience and intel amongst the team working across the Lexus Melbourne Cup and Melbourne Fashion Week projects.

Gemma, having recently left Myer to take on the freelance world, has seamlessly slotted back into the Kate & Co. PR team.

Kate Keane, Founder and Managing Director, says, “I’m thrilled that Gemma has made a return to the Kate & Co. PR family in a contract role.

Her longevity and permanence in the communications industry is a real testament to the publicist she is today.”

Having previously worked at MYER for more than 7 years across national brand ambassadors, seasonal launches and events, brand sponsorships and partnerships such as the Victoria Racing Club and MYER Fashions on the Field, Gemma brings a substantial skillset in consumer retail, fashion and lifestyle communications.

When beginning her career in public relations at Kate & Co. back in 2009, Gemma was responsible for the strategic development and execution of a broad range of innovative public relations initiatives for clients such as Misschu, Decjuba, Phaidon Press, sass & bide, Swisse vitamins and Myer Fashion Launches and the Myer Marquee at the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
