Last night’s return of comedy show Have You Been Paying Attention? combined with a double fist pump from MasterChef has delivered Network Ten one of its better results for 2018.

The struggling network managed to snare a vastly improved 21.5 per cent audience share last night that would give Ten bosses some hope it can again compete with Nine (who won the night with 27.6 per cent) and Seven (26.5 per cent). The ABC had 18 per cent and SBS managed 6.4 per cent.

Nine’s The Voice (881,000) was the best watched of the reality TV shows, but Ten’s MasterChef wasn’t far behind with 820,000. Seven’s House Rules managing 673,000.

On a more worrying note for Seven, its money show The Mentor had its worst night since debut, pulling just 349,000.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin won bragging rights over Nine’s, 1.06 million to 1.01 million, respectively. While ACA did well with 902,000.

Continuing Ten’s reversal of form, even The Project had one of its better nights pulling 579,000.

Over at the ABC, its Monday night line-up of current affairs went thus: 7pm news bulletin (772,000), 7.30 (646,000), Australian Story (571,000), Four Corners (541,000), Media Watch (448,000), Q&A (354,000) and Think Tank (265,000). SBS’s best for the night was Elizabeth that managed 240,000.
