Since joining RMIT Online in 2017, CEO Helen Souness has helped deliver education programs that deliver work-ready skills and use innovative technologies to drive student experience results.
RMIT Online delivers courses varying from traditional degrees to masters programs, as well as 39 short courses that help students continuously upskill.
Over 18,000 students used RMIT Online to upskill in 2019.
Much of RMIT Online’s success has come through delivering ‘first of its kind’ programs for Australia.
These focus on breakthrough technologies such as blockchain and Artificial Intelligence and have been co-designed with over 70 industry partners including companies like AWS, IBM, Telstra, realestate.com.au and Accenture who help to create the learning experience.
Souness is of the firm belief that coupling education and industry is key in delivering results and providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to keep up with the fast-changing and ever-evolving demands of Industry 4.0.
In March of last year, RMIT Online expanded its regional footprint and was accepted into the Singaporean Government’s highly respected SkillsFuture program to bring iOS App Development with Swift and Developing Blockchain Strategy short courses to Singapore.
This is a curated list of industry-relevant training by the Singaporean Government, for which every citizen receives funding to undertake.
Upon launching this collaboration, Souness spoke with Apple’s Vice President Lisa Jackson about the critical need we have to develop homegrown talent and drive innovation.
Outside of her RMIT Online commitments, Souness also provided insights and thought-leadership as a keynote speaker at events such as StartCon and Techformation.
