As ANZ Marketing Lead, Sara Palmieri is a senior leader who has significantly driven Lenovo’s transformation across a broad spectrum of business segments – consumer, SMB and large enterprise.
Palmieri has overseen the company enter the market for the first time through digital and social campaigns and has helped raise awareness of Lenovo’s gaming product range, Legion, among ‘casual gamers’ – representing 92 per cent of Australians.
In 2019, she helped Lenovo create a campaign to help make PC gaming accessible for all.
Also last year, Palmieri launched Australia’s most unexpected celebrity eSports team – the Motley Squad, proving that even those least expected can be gamers.
The team included Australian musician and icon Shannon Noll, Love Island star Cassidy McGill, PR maven Roxy Jacenko, Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Bradbury and gaming legend Faze Hazz.
The team was launched with Lenovo’s Legion of Champions (LoC), an e-Sports tournament offering a welcoming environment for casual gamers to compete in, with winners progressing to compete in the professional e-Sports league.
The Motley Squad was unveiled at gaming festival PAX 2019 and immediately launched e-sports and gaming from a niche topic into the mainstream with media, forums and gamers across the globe.
The initiative proved a PR success, with Lenovo Legion seeing an uptick in searches, site traffic and media reach.
Palmieri’s current focus is on championing diversity and inclusion, especially for women who
continue to be underrepresented in technology.
