In her role as a Design Lead at Australia’s first smartbank, 86 400, Jessa Jakovljevic works to create a customer experience that helps Australians take control of their money.
Jessa and her team design the end-to-end customer experience for all the digital and non-digital touchpoints at 86 400. In the ten months since 86 400 launched, their products have quickly gained a reputation for their beautiful, elegant and simple user experiences.
86 400 offers an innovative and trustworthy experience to their customers, which is crucial to the success and growth of the business. But when the experience and visual style wasn’t hitting the mark, and the launch was six months away, the success of the launch of Australia’s first smartbank was at risk. Jessa was crucial in influencing 86 400 to pivot to ensure they were offering their customers the right experiences to help remove the stress and anxiety that comes from managing your finances.
Now, she works hard to forge a customer-centric design culture within the bank, which sees relevant frameworks embedded within the product and marketing lifecycles.
Outside of her day job, Jessa is a keen contributor to the design community. She enthusiastically shares her learnings and journey with her peers in design and technology through various talks including at General Assembly and Pausefest, and through mentoring designers on ‘How to start in the industry?’ and ‘How to ace a design interview?’.
