Petrolium giant Shell has reappointed MediaCom to handle its global media planning and buying duties, following a comprehensive pitch process.
MediaCom is joined by four other WPP agencies (Wunderman, H+K Strategies, Geometry Global and Mirum) on its global roster to help create an ‘Agency of the Future’. The total account is estimated to be worth over $250 million.
MediaCom was tipped to hold onto media account, which is run out of the agency’s Melbourne office in Australia, after Shell commenced a review in January.
WPP chief operating officer Mark Read said: “We are delighted with the outcome of both the creative and media reviews, which demonstrates the strength of our companies, our flexibility and adaptability as a group, and our enduring ability to win the trust of the biggest global clients.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Shell to help them transform their communications platform and achieve their business goals.”
