GroupM media agency MEC Australia has continued the expansion of its national footprint through a deal with Brisbane media and advertising veteran Teena Jameson (pictured) that will see clients and staff from Jameson’s agency Media Circus transferred to MEC Brisbane.
The addition of Media Circus clients and staff to MEC Brisbane, effective 1 August, will double the size of the agency in that market following two years of strong growth under the leadership of Jane Sullivan.
On the back of the business’s consistent growth and new increased scale, Sullivan will step up to the role of Brisbane managing director from her previous role as managing partner.
Teena Jameson will work with Sullivan to manage the transition and continue servicing clients for at least three months, before she retires from the industry. Media Circus clients include Choices Flooring, TradeTools, Queensland Master Builders, yourtown art union, Maytronics, Queensland Museum Network and Computer Power.
Jameson established Media Circus in July 2011, following her departure from Mitchell’s (now Carat Brisbane) after more than 10 years running what was then Queensland’s largest media agency. She assumed full ownership of Media Circus in September last year.
MEC CEO James Hier said, “Strengthening our national presence is a priority for MEC, and this bolstering of our Brisbane offering is another demonstration of our commitment to the market and our existing clients here.
“Jane has done an outstanding job growing our business to date and the opportunity to bring on more clients and staff will further boost our overall strength in the market, to the benefit of existing and new clients.”
Jameson added, “After 40 wonderful years in the industry, it’s time for me to focus on my other passions, including animal welfare.
“MEC is the perfect partner to offer continuity, minimal disruption and a broader range of services to the clients who have supported Media Circus over the past five years. For our staff, this is also a great opportunity to enjoy enhanced career opportunities through the GroupM global network.”
