McCann Sydney Brings Back Valentine’s Day Campaign For The Hunger Project

Following its successful launch in 2016, McCann Sydney has kicked-off its Valentine’s Day Campaign for The Hunger Project Australia.

The campaign, ‘A Table to End Hunger,’ allows foodies to bid for a romantic dinner at Australia’s most popular restaurants on the hardest day of the year to get a table – Valentine’s Day.

Bids are made via a dedicated eBay site until Thursday 2 February, with all proceeds going directly to The Hunger Project. The campaign also includes a partnership with restaurant booking platform Dimmi, along with media support across digital, out-of-home and radio activity.

According to McCann, the campaign has tripled in size this year, expanding nationally as well as to Singapore and Japan.

Over 65 restaurants are generously offering dinner and wine this year, including Brasserie Gavroche in Singapore and The Apollo in Tokyo, along with local establishments Quay, Bennelong, Automata, Tipo00 and Minamishima.

McCann Sydney managing director Adam Lee said the agency was immensely proud to have developed an idea to support The Hunger Project’s goal of ending world hunger by 2030 that can not only work in Australia, but also in other parts of the world.

“Bid for a table, help others put food on theirs. It’s really that simple,” he said.

Melanie Noden, CEO of The Hunger Project Australia, said the organisation was delighted to be partnering with McCann Sydney again for the campaign.

“Huge global progress has been made already,” she said. “In the past 25 years, the number of people living in hunger has actually been cut in half.

“That said, there’s still a long way to go to end world hunger by 2030, and A Table To End Hunger is one way for Australians to play a part in the solution.”
