Fitzgerald moves across from The Monkeys where she has been since 2014.
Prior to this, she worked at Holler Sydney, Ogilvy and Jack Watts Currie for clients including Heineken, Audi, Coke, Air Wick, St George Bank, Huggies and Blackmores.
Fitzgerald is also the founder of the blog The Gabberish, an online outlet for frustrated creatives.
Fox joins the agency from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.
He was previously at BBDO New York and has worked on clients including Mars, NAB, Starbucks, New York Tourism, Corona, BCF, CUB, City of Melbourne and TAC.
M&C Saatchi Melbourne ECD Emma Robbins said: “Russel and Siobhan are exceptional humans and exceptional creatives.
“As new creative leaders, we’re really looking forward to watching how they think, nurture ideas and creative talent.
“Siobhan is an authentic, insightful and engaging writer, both in the biz and on her brilliant online blog, The Gabberish.
“Russ is a skilled, sharp and clever art director with awesome campaigns under his belt. Their appointment is a symbol of a great new beginning for us, we can’t wait for them to get started.”
Fitzgerald said of her appointment: “Working with Emma has been an aspiration of mine for years. Anyone who’s ever worked with her will tell you how awesome she is both creatively and personally.
“I’m also thrilled that M&C Saatchi has shown their commitment to creating a diverse workforce by hiring me when I am 24 weeks pregnant, a move that sets an example for agencies wanting to even out the gender gap in senior creative positions.”
Fox said: “I’m delighted to be joining M&C Saatchi.
“The people you work with are everything in this business, so the hires M&C Saatchi has made recently are incredibly exciting.
“I’m especially looking forward to working with Emma again.
“She’s one of those rare individuals who’s not only an extraordinary creative talent and leader but a genuinely lovely human.
“I can’t wait to get stuck in and help the team here build something special.”
