A leaked clip is circling online of Seven newsreaders Rebecca Maddern and mike amor condemning tennis player Novak Djokovic and calling him a “lying, sneaky asshole.”

Maddern who recently left Nine to return to Seven is back with a splash!

The leak that has gone viral shows a very candid conversation between the newsreaders.

The two are discussing the seemingly never-ending Djokovic visa debacle story. Most recently Djokovic won the right to stay in Australia and play in the Australian Open and they both have opinions!

In the leaked clip, Maddern turns to Amor and says, “Whatever way you look at it. Novak Djokovic is a lying sneaky asshole.”

Amor responds with, “He is an asshole.”

The two share a lengthy back and forth about Djokovic. Interestingly, Amor and Maddern seem to agree that they think the tennis player lied about ever having COVID-19.

Maddern says, “I don’t think he even was COVID positive”

Amor says, “He got a bullshit f$cking excuse and then fell over his own f$cking lies. It‘s just what happens, right, that’s what happened.”

It is a very spicy exchange!

Particularly, when you remember normally you never get an opinion off a newsreader – usually only facts and never shade.

But both Amor and Maddern are throwing some serious shade at Djokovic.

Of course, the clip has now gone viral and is being picked up by international publications and is the talk of Twitter.

Even more scandalously some people seem to believe the leak was actually a planned stunt to make a grab for ratings. Particularly because Nine has the rights to the Australian Open but Seven has vehemently denied this.

Seven’s network director of news and public affairs, Craig McPherson said in a statement given to B&T: “The illegal recording was of a private conversation between two colleagues.

“It was an underhanded, cowardly act in breach of the Victorian Listening Devices legislation the perpetrator of which will be accordingly dealt with when found.”

Here at B&T we can’t help but think that if it was staged they surely would have used fewer f-bombs.
