Fox Cricket’s commentary team reunited at Parramatta Town Hall today to kick-start a summer that will see more than 3,000 hours of live cricket, including The Ashes and India’s tour of Australia, live and ad-break free during play on Kayo SPORTS.

More than a thousand cricket fans packed Parramatta Square for the fan event to hear from and meet Fox Cricket greats including Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, Ravi Shastri, Brett Lee, Mark Waugh, Kerry O’Keeffe, Brendon Julian and Rachael Haynes, alongside hosts Mark Howard and Megan Barnard.

Australian Test Captain Pat Cummins, spin-bowler Nathan Lyon and WBBL star Hannah Darlington also attended to help preview what promises to be an unforgettable summer of cricket.

This year, Kayo SPORTS’ coverage features two blockbuster international tours. First up is India, with a three-match ODI series starting this Sunday, October 19 and a five-match T20 series from October 29, with every match LIVE and exclusive on Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel.

Viewers on Kayo SPORTS will once again have access to an alternative Hindi commentary feed.

Then, it’s all eyes on The Ashes series on home soil, with every Test LIVE in 4K. Fan favourites Isa Guha and Michael Vaughan will return to the Fox Cricket commentary team as their home nation England attempts to secure the Urn for the first time in a decade, beginning November 21 in Perth.

In between, Fox Cricket will bring viewers everything from BBL 15 and WBBL 11, before capping off an epic summer with the women’s international series against India from February.

Rounding out the Fox Cricket commentary team this summer is Usman Khawaja, Allan Border, Alyssa Healy, Brad Haddin, Michael Hussey, Sarah Jones, Katherine Loughnan and Mel Jones.

Fox Cricket expert Adam Gilchrist said: “There’s something truly special about an Ashes summer in Australia — the history, the rivalry, the passion from fans across the country is unrivalled. Add in India’s tour and it’s undoubtedly one of the biggest summers in terms of opposition that we’ve ever had.

Fox Sports managing director, Steve Crawley, said: “This isn’t just another summer of cricket, this is the summer of cricket. You’ve got the top two white ball nations in the world going head-to-head, followed by one of the greatest rivalries in world sport with The Ashes. It simply doesn’t get any bigger, and the Fox Cricket commentary team is ready to deliver it all.”

Kayo SPORTS has also teamed up with The Grade Cricketer podcast and hosts Sam Perry and Ian Higgins, as official ambassadors for the Summer of Cricket. They will bring their trademark humour and unique take on the game through social content, podcast integrations, on-ground activations, as well as provide alternate commentary on select games.

More innovation, greater analysis and refreshed on air graphics will keep viewers locked into the action with two new features being introduced to this year’s coverage:

  • Fox Focus –next-generation telestrator technology that provides real-time player and field-tracking analysis, allowing Fox Cricket experts to position graphics, measure, and highlight over live pictures for more engaging strategy and analysis, and will be used during the ODI series against India and The Ashes.
  • Fox Playbook – a revolutionary tool that predicts player match-ups and ball-by-ball strategies in white-ball cricket, showing viewers what’s about to happen, and will be used across the India white-ball series, all BBL matches, and Fox Cricket exclusive WBBL matches.
