Delivery service DoorDash today is expanding into 16 new regional communities across Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, reaching up to 410,000 regional Australians.

The new markets now available on DoorDash include Geraldton, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Albany and Karratha in Western Australia; Port Lincoln, Victor Harbor-Goolwa, Port Pirie and Port Augusta in South Australia; Echuca-Moama, Wangaratta, Sale, Bairnsdale, Horsham and Moe-Newborough in Victoria; and Kingston, Blackmans Bay and Ulverstone in Tasmania.

DoorDash will be one of the most exciting deliveries to the good folks Geraldton since former West Coast Eagle Josh Kennedy returned to his childhood club the Northampton Rams in the GNFL.

This expansion phase marks one of DoorDash’s largest regional growth initiatives in Australia, helping connect local residents with restaurants, grocery and convenience partners, while supporting local businesses to reach new customers and create new earning opportunities for Dashers.

“This expansion is about supporting local communities by helping merchants grow, creating flexible earning opportunities for Dashers, and making everyday life a little easier for residents. We’re proud to be investing in regional Australia and look forward to becoming part of these communities,” DoorDash APAC vice president Simon Rossi said.

DoorDash recently signed a multi-year deal with the Australian Open which sees it become the official on-demand delivery partner.

The delivery service has been ram ping up its marketing activity in this market. Recently, it expanded Wavemaker’s global media agency remit, while its CMO is former global CEO Tim Castree.

Businesses interested in partnering with DoorDash and community members seeking flexible earning opportunities can learn more at its Merchants and Dasher websites.
