America’s first lady Jill Biden will be gracing the cover of Vogue in August. Which marks the first time in 4 years a first lady has appeared on the cover of the iconic magazine.
In recent years it has become a tradition, that when you are the First Lady you appear on the cover of Vogue, However, Melania Trump never became part of that tradition.
The Vogue cover tradition started with pants suit queen and former First Lady, Hilary Clinton.
Michelle Obama famously appeared on the cover three times when her husband was in office.
Despite Melania Trump being considered quite fashionable, I mean who could forget her, “I really don’t care, do you,” jacket.
The tradition came to a halt when Trump was the First Lady.
Naturally, people on Twitter have a lot to say about Biden landing a Vogue cover after Trump never did.
All our first ladies should make the cover of Vogue magazine.regardless of politices. First lady Melanie Trump should have been included.Shame on you Vogue. Margaret Shelley.

Whatever you think of the Trump’s, it is inexcusable that Vogue magazine and similar publications never put First Lady Melania on the cover. She qualified in every way: elegant, intelligent, stylish. To exclude her really revealed the deep political prejudice of the fashionistas. https://t.co/s8D1wcy7nL

Out reported in 2019 that when Anna Wintour was asked if Melania Trump not gracing the covers of Vogue was a conscious decision, she replied: “There are so many women in politics that deserve celebration, whether it’s Kirsten [Gillibrand] or Senator Harris, or Senator Warren. We just recently ran a piece in our current issue about five of the six political female candidates, all of which I felt deserved a place in Vogue.”
According to The Cut, a rep for MelaniaTrump at the time said: “To be on the cover of Vogue doesn’t define Mrs. Trump, she’s been there, done that long before she was first lady.”
Trump had graced the cover of Vogue in 2005, to celebrate her marriage to Donald Trump.
The headline for Biden’s Vogue cover is, A First Lady For Us All:
The Biden issue will be available in August.
