Instagram has given creators the tools to see whether their posts and reels are recommended to other users in the explore page.
“You can see how many people you reach can go up and down over time,” said Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram.
“One of the reasons that happens is sometimes your account can end up in a state where it’s not eligible for your photos and videos to show up in what we call ‘recommendations,’ so at the end of feed, or in Explore, or in other places where we surface videos and photos for people who do not follow you.”
✅ Account Status Update ✅
We’re expanding Account Status so professional accounts can understand if their content may be eligible to be recommended to non-followers.
Here’s how to get to it: Profile -> Menu -> Settings -> Account -> Account Status pic.twitter.com/QbxjQF06vR

To find out whether posts have been shared with other users, creators can go to Profile -> Menu -> Settings -> Account -> Account Status.
The news follows Meta’s announcement that Facebook and Instagram are going to start showing users more content from accounts that they do not follow or are friends with.
Earlier this year, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company had built a “Discovery Engine” that is intended to compete with TikTok’s For You page.
For social-first campaigns, this could have serious ramifications. Brands and marketers could use the new tools to ensure that their accounts are in tip-top shape in order for recommendation to prospective buyers.
