Innocean Lands Former Publicis Sapient Head As New Head Of Digital

Innocean Australia CEO, Jasmin Bedir has announced the appointment of Matthew Morgan (lead image) as its new head of digital, as the agency’s digital offering grows rapidly and clients seek more integrated communications.

In the newly created role, Morgan will head up the digital and CX discipline across the agency, bringing his diverse skillset to existing Innocean clients to capitalise on the increasingly complex marketing potential for engagement between brands and audiences online.

Morgan has more than 11 years’ experience in the digital media industry, both in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining Innocean, he was head of marketing for Publicis Sapient. Morgan has also worked with Saatchi & Saatchi as strategy director in Sydney, at Publicis Groupe’s Performics as head of performance content, was business director at Zenith and worked with Forward 3D in senior SEO roles in London.

Innocean CEO, Jasmin Bedir, said: “We’ve worked hard to rebuild Innocean into an integrated communications offering and, as a result, our work in digital has grown at a rapid pace and we needed someone with the digital skills and expertise to continue that growth and provide deep digital knowledge. Matt comes to us with a fantastic pedigree of expertise to deliver best-in-class digital solutions for our clients. We’re excited for him to join our team and helping us take the agency to the next level.”

Commenting on his new role, Morgan said: “It was immediately obvious to me that Innocean is building something truly unique and innovative. The entrepreneurial spirit that Jas, (executive creative director) Wez and (chief strategy officer) Gual have laid at the very core of the business is extremely rare but aligned perfectly with what I was looking for. Morgan’s appointment is effective immediately and follows the appointment of Gual Barwell as Innocean’s new chief strategy officer.
