The creative agency formerly known as Coffee Cocoa Gunpowder has celebrated its third birthday and officially changed its name to Cocogun.
Launched in 2019 by founders Chiquita King and Ant Melder, Cocogun has vowed to deliver audacious creativity while doing good in the world, and now boasts a strong body of work, an impressive client list and a growing team.
Highlights of Cocogun’s three years include the groundbreaking Human Mart project for Anti-Slavery Australia, partnering with UTS to launch The Cocogun Creative Scholarship for Indigenous Students, and welcoming new clients including LinkedIn, Panasonic and harrison.ai.
Talking about the name change, founder and MD, Chiquita King said, “It’s actually more of a ‘slimming down’ than a change. While the principles behind our name remain – humanity and a dedication to the power of creativity – the original was a bit of a mouthful. Our clients, partners and team all refer to us as ‘Cocogun’, so we thought it was time to make it official.”
Creative Partner Ant Melder added, “As a nation, we love to shorten words – as any relo chomping down an avo sanga while working on their reno will tell you. Even our national leader – Albo – isn’t immune. We thought it was time to do the same. ‘Cocogun’ is simpler, punchier and we’re as creatively ambitious as ever. If nothing else, I’m sure every receptionist in Sydney will thank us for it.”
