Impressive has today announced three promotions, including Sam Makwana, who steps up to general manager.
Impressive is an integrated marketing agency powered by tech and AI, delivering impressive results for ambitious brands. Independent, award-winning and Australian-owned, the business is headquartered in Melbourne with offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Austin, Texas.
Makwana has been with Impressive for six years, leading the agency’s SEO team. He takes on agency-wide responsibility across the four pillars of people, process, finance and strategy.
Impressive Founder and CEO Robert Tadros said: “Sam has played a huge role in shaping the business. He understands the culture, the team, and what it takes to deliver great outcomes for our clients. Over the years, he’s consistently stepped up as a leader, particularly in building structure and processes within the SEO department that have helped us scale while maintaining quality.
“Promoting him to GM is a natural next step. He has the respect of the team, strong operational thinking, and a clear vision for how we continue to standardise and productise parts of the business. He’s also helping drive the development of our award-winning SEO technology offering, Skailed. I’m incredibly confident he’s the right person to help lead Impressive into its next phase of growth.”
Of the appointment, Makwana said: “I’m more than ready to take on a wider leadership role at Impressive. Having lived and breathed our culture for years, I’m looking forward to taking the rigour I have established around our SEO offering and applying that across the business as we continue to push the boundaries of what the Skailed platform can achieve.”
Also promoted, Rachel Harvey, who becomes SEO Director and Maryellen Arkinson, who takes on the role of Group Performance Director.

Rachel continues to evolve our SEO capability, while Maryellen has built a strong performance team that consistently drives commercial outcomes across paid media.”
The promotions follow 12 months of strong growth for the agency, driven by new business wins as well as expanded scope with existing clients. The appointments further strengthen the leadership layer of the business to support ongoing growth and innovation, such as the roll-out of new features for SEO platform Skailed.
Impressive’s client portfolio includes Mattel, Space Furniture, Hertz, Lorna Jane, The Memo, Workwear Group, FleetCard, Callaway Golf and Mitre10.
