Hughesy & Kate Drive KIIS FM Listeners Home Today at 4pm

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) new National Drive Show team of Dave “Hughesy” Hughes and Kate Langbroek, known on-air as Hughesy & Kate, will be driving listeners home on the KIIS Network from 4pm today.

Today’s launch of Hughesy & Kate comes hot off the heels of ARN’s launch of their hugely successful KIIS brand beyond Sydney to Melbourne. From 4pm today Hughesy & Kate will bring a fresh, new dynamic to the drive slot as they’re heard nationally on the newly rebranded KIIS 101.1 in Melbourne in addition to KIIS 1065 in Sydney, 97.3FM in Brisbane and Mix 102.3 in Adelaide.

Great friends both on and off the air, Hughesy & Kate are one of radio’s all-time great partnerships. Between Hughesy’s laid back, Aussie bloke outlook and Kate’s smart, fearless and sassy take on the world, Hughesy & Kate are set to bring their entertaining, warm and honest brand of radio to audiences in 2015.

About the launch of their new national drive show, Hughesy said: “I can’t wait to get back on air with Kate, she is a great friend and we always have a lot of fun together on our shows. It’s going to be a big year and what better time to start than right after Australia Day when everyone needs a laugh again because we all know the working year really starts now.”

“I’m really looking forward to working the drive shift with Hughesy, it’s always such a joy working with him and it’s going to be great to be sharing our show with a national audience. Work aside, I can’t wait to see what my husband’s made for dinner… Will it be KFC or McDonalds?” Kate added.

ARN is also thrilled to announce Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond and Zoe Marshall will be joining the KIIS network as the new The 3PM Pick Up team.

Created for great listening for that all-important 3pm hour when we all need an energetic lift, The 3PM Pick Up With Monty & Zoe will be an hour of fun stories, hot topics of the day, alongside music KIIS fans love.

Known for her frank, fresh opinions and sense of fun, Monty Dimond has worked on national radio shows on both the ARN and Nova networks, and she has also appeared as a guest on well-known TV shows, including The Project and The Today Show.

Monty is well known and loved to audiences, after working alongside close friends Ryan Shelton and Michael Wipfli as part of the national Nova FM drive team Ryan, Monty & Wippa. She then joined Merrick Watts and Scott Dooley on the Nova 969 Breakfast show in Sydney before taking the reins of her own weekly Nova national show, Saturday Morning Monty. More recently Monty has filled in for stints on ARN Breakfast and The 3PM Pick up.

While juggling her media commitments, Monty also loves being a mum to two young boys, Baxter and Arlo.

Zoe Marshall has held a number of TV presenting and radio roles both in Australia and New Zealand, including filling in as co-host on Mornings with David Campbell and regular appearances on Channel 7’s Sunrise as one of Kochie’s Angels. Armed with a genuine passion for life and connecting with people, Zoe is the author of a blog, Know Your Worth, andshe has also had a weekly column for the Sunday Telegraph.

The 3PM Pick Up airs from 3-4PM, across KIIS 1065 Sydney, KIIS 101.1 Melbourne, 97.3 Brisbane and Mix 102.3 Adelaide and had been hugely successful for the network since it began in 2012.

ARN’s national content director, Duncan Campbell said he was pleased to see all on-air teams back in action to really kick off 2015.

“It’s fantastic to see all the shows now on air. It’s going to be an exciting and competitive year for radio, particularly in Sydney and Melbourne, and now that Hughesy & Kate and The 3PM Pick Up With Monty & Zoe are on air to join our Breakfast Shows, it really feels like the year has begun for us. Hughesy & Kate are exceptionally talented and loved by their loyal audience, so I can’t wait to see what they bring to ARN’s national drive slot, and the new team of Monty & Zoe is going to bring a fresh new energy to our very popular 3PM Pick Up show,” he said.
