Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has appointed seasoned marcomms professional Cindy Gilbert as senior manager, marketing and public relations for Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, based in the Sydney office.
Reporting to Karen Macmillan, HKTB director for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific, Gilbert will lead the consumer marketing and public relations strategies that promote Hong Kong as a world-class leisure travel destination across these key markets.
With extensive experience in the travel industry, Gilbert brings a proven track record in delivering impactful branding initiatives and integrated campaigns. Her career includes senior roles at Emirates, Royal Caribbean, and CAPA (Centre for Aviation), where she successfully developed and executed initiatives that drove engagement and brand growth.
“As an avid traveller, Hong Kong represents the best of all things travel—food, culture, events, style, and the great outdoors,” said Gilbert. “With its fascinating duality—East meets West, old meets new, chic meets street, city meets nature—there’s always something new to explore.
“I look forward to bringing my expertise to HKTB to build on the destination’s growth and appeal in this region, with a 33 per cent year-on-year increase from Australian visitors and 35 per cent from New Zealand in the first half of 2025.”
HKTB’s former senior manager, marketing and PR, Jess Rowden, has returned to her homeland in Ireland after almost eight years with the organisation.
