Hamish Blake Squashes Rumours That He Was Paid Half A Million To Appear On GoggleBox

Hamish Blake has squashed the rumours that he was paid half a million for one episode of Gogglebox.

Power couple Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster Blake appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox, and at the time, rumours were swirling.

The rumour was that the couple were bagging half a million for just a one-episode appearance – wow!

However, Blake has come out and revealed to Kyle and Jackie O that he actually earned way less.

News.com.au reported that Blake said: “That blew me away. (We earned) $5000. Five, zero, zero zero.

“Everyone gets the same thing. There was never any discussion of money.”

The Lego Master host explained that he signed on to do the show because he was mates with people working on the show.

Blake said: “The same executive producer that makes LEGO Masters is in charge of Gogglebox as well, good mate, and that’s why we did it.

“Literally, over lunch one day, he goes, ‘Hey, we’re doing a celebrity version of Gogglebox,’ and I was like, ‘Mate, we’ll do that; that sounds like great fun.’”

It sounds like if Blake wants to earn over half a million, he’d need to return to the airwaves.
