Hamish & Andy Regain Top Spot For Drive Radio In Melbourne

The Hit Network’s Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have reclaimed bragging rights of having the number one drive show in Melbourne, according to the latest radio ratings released today by GfK (on behalf of Commercial Radio Australia).

Here’s a neat little summary of the results from GfK’s Survey 7, and yes, we’ve included the AM ratings too!

SYDNEY

Macquarie Radio Network’s 2GB celebrates 100 consecutive survey wins in Sydney and holds a firm grip on overall market share for people aged 10 years and over at 13.0 per cent, despite a slight decline (0.3 per cent) from Survey 6. Meanwhile, KIIS 1065 (Australian Radio Network) has increased its market share by 1.3 per cent to 9.1 per cent, overtaking 702 ABC Sydney, which dropped 1.1 per cent to 9.0 per cent.

Breakfast

First: 2GB’s The Alan Jones Breakfast Show (up 0.7 per cent to 16.9 per cent)

Second: KIIS 1065’s the Kyle & Jackie O show (up 1.9 per cent to 10.8 per cent)

Third: 702 ABC Sydney (down 1.2 per cent to 10.7 per cent)

Drive

First: smooth 95.3 (down 0.9 per cent to 10.4 per cent)

Second: 702 ABC Sydney (down 1.1 per cent to 9.5 per cent) and 2GB’s Ben Fordham – Sydney Live (down 0.1 per cent to 9.5 per cent)

Third: NOVA 96.9’s Kate, Tim & Marty (up 0.1 per cent to 9.4 per cent)

 

MELBOURNE

Macquarie’s 3AW again took top honours for overall market share in the Melbourne market with 13.6 per cent (down 0.5 per cent), while the Hit Network’s Fox FM moved into second with a 1.5 per cent share increase to 10.1 per cent, and 774 ABC Melbourne slipped to third with 9.5 per cent (down 0.3 per cent).

Breakfast

First: 3AW’s Ross and John (down 0.9 per cent to 17.8 per cent)

Second: 774 ABC Melbourne (down 0.5 per cent to 12.3 per cent)

Third: Triple M 105.1’s The Hot Breakfast (up 0.7 per cent to 9.9 per cent)

Drive

First: FOX FM’s Hamish & Andy (up 2.3 per cent to 13.3 per cent)

Second: 3AW (up 0.2 per cent to 12.1 per cent)

Third: 774 ABC Melbourne (down 0.5 per cent to 8.0 per cent)

 

BRISBANE

There was no change with the top three stations for overall market share in Brisbane, with NOVA 106.9 holding onto top spot with 13.5 per cent (down 0.2 per cent on Survey 6), followed by 97.3fm with 12.2 per cent (no change) and hit105 with 10.8 per cent (up 0.1 per cent).

Breakfast

First: NOVA 106.9’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy (down 0.6 per cent to 12.6 per cent)

Second: 97.3fm’s Robin, Terry & Bob (down 0.9 per cent to 12.5 per cent)

Third: 612 ABC Brisbane (down 0.1 per cent to 11.3 per cent)

Drive

First: NOVA 106.9’s Kate, Tim & Marty (down 0.1 per cent to 16.3 per cent)

Second: hit105’s Hamish & Andy (down 0.1 per cent to 14.4 per cent)

Third: 97.3fm’s Hughesy & Kate (up 0.6 per cent to 12.5 per cent)

 

ADELAIDE

Despite losing 1.8 per cent of overall market share, Mix 102.3 finished first in Adelaide with 14.0 per cent, followed by 891 ABC Adelaide with 11.4 per cent (up 0.9 per cent) and NOVA 91.9 with 11.3 per cent (no change).

Breakfast

First: 891 ABC Adelaide (up 1.6 per cent to 16.6 per cent)

Second: Mix 102.3’s Jodie & Soda (down 1.9 per cent to 12.8 per cent)

Third: FIVEaa (up 1.5 per cent to 12.3 per cent)

Drive

First: hit107’s Hamish & Andy (up 2.3 per cent to 13.4 per cent)

Second: NOVA’s Kate, Tim & Marty (down 1.0 per cent to 13.2 per cent)

Third: Mix 102.3’s Hughesy & Kate (down 2.0 per cent to 11.8 per cent)

 

PERTH

Mix 94.5 extended its lead for overall market share in Adelaide by 1.3 per cent to 16.9 per cent, while hit92.9 moved into second spot with 11.6 per cent share (up 0.6 per cent) and NOVA 93.7 finished third with 11.2 per cent (down 0.1 per cent).

Breakfast

First: Mix 94.5’s Clairsy, Matt and Kymba (down 0.4 per cent to 14.6 per cent)

Second: NOVA 93.7’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun (down 0.4 per cent to 11.9 per cent)

Third: 720 ABC Perth (down 0.1 per cent to 11.7 per cent)

Drive

First: Mix 94.5’s Lisa and Pete (up 2.3 per cent to 18.4 per cent)

Second: hit92.9’s Hamish & Andy (down 0.5 per cent to 12.9 per cent) and NOVA 93.7 (up 0.6 per cent to 12.9 per cent)

Third: Triple J’s Veronica & Lewis (down 0.2 per cent to 11.3 per cent)
