Google Released An Ad Supporting Black-Owned Businesses For Black Friday & It’s Tremendous Fun

Black Friday may have come and gone (it was last Friday) and to commemorate the starting gun to the Christmas shopping splurge Google released an ad encouraging Black customers to shop at Black-owned retailers.

Called “Google presents the #BlackOwned Friday film feature” is the work of Google, creative agency BBH USA and the US Black Chambers – an industry body supporting businesses owned by Black Americans.

The ad features a host of Black stars including rapper T-Pain rapping the lead, singer and dancer Normani, comic Desi Banks (who plays a crazy cable TV host) and singer Tanerélle in the lead role.

The campaign invites Black-owned retailers to enhance their visibility via digital tools that also include a special “B”/heart icon. That badge appears throughout the three-minute long spot and adorns results for Google searches such as “Black-owned businesses near me.” Check out the work below:
