Lachlan Jones, managing director of Foundation, has been chosen as one of only ten corporate leaders to join renowned neurosurgeon Professor Charlie Teo in attempting to scale Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, in July.
Called the Million$Mission, each participant is tasked with raising $100,000 and all funds raised will support the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
Jones said, “I’m passionate about philanthropy, trekking, climbing and spending time with like-minded people. How could I possibly say no to this opportunity?
“The chance to help raise money for an amazing cause whilst spending time with Professor Charlie Teo, who is surely one of the most innovative and progressive thinkers around, along with other inspiring leaders in their fields, is too good to pass up.
“I’m here today asking for support and I hope the media and advertising industry get behind me.”
One of the ways Lachlan will seek to optimise donations to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is via an auction of vouchers that can be redeemed for media inventory.
Kicking off strong and generous support from the industry is APN Outdoor who have committed 2 x $50,000 vouchers, News Corp who have donated 1 x $50,000 voucher and Foxtel who have donated a voucher to the value of $30,000. These vouchers will be auctioned online with details to come shortly.
Individual donations to support Lachlan’s Million$Mission are welcome and can be made here, and if you would like to donate items or vouchers for the auction, please contact Lachlan at Foundation on (02) 8093 8050.
