AI-powered advertising platform Quantcast has appointed former Yahoo advertising executive Matthew Chan as its new head of sales in Hong Kong.

Chan joins the business this week and will report to Quantcast vice president of APAC, Paul Sigaloff. He will be responsible for growing Quantcast’s business in Hong Kong, strengthening relationships with agencies, brands and partners, and expanding its market offering, including its AI-driven, goal-based advertising solution, Q+.

Chan brings more than 15 years of digital advertising leadership experience across Greater China, with expertise spanning business development, data analytics, commercial strategy and sales operations.

He joins Quantcast from Yahoo, where he held senior sales roles for nearly two decades. Most recently, he served as head of advertising business for Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, overseeing commercial and operational functions across the markets.

During his tenure, Chan also led Yahoo’s China outbound business, growing programmatic buying through agency and advertiser partnerships. He was also involved in the launch of a first-in-market programmatic digital out-of-home campaign, which was recognised by IAB Hong Kong.

Chan previously served as an executive committee member of IAB Hong Kong from 2022 to 2024 and has also worked with Verizon Media and FedEx.

Sigaloff said Chan’s experience in programmatic advertising, commercial strategy and agency partnerships would be valuable as Quantcast continues to expand its presence in the region.

“Matthew’s commercial strengths in programmatic growth and partnership development will be critical as we continue to expand our footprint in the Chinese market,” Sigaloff said.

“He has a proven track record for reshaping businesses for long-term growth, helping to develop new revenue streams and partnership models.”

Chan said he was joining the business at a pivotal time for digital advertising.

“I’m particularly excited to bring my experience across Hong Kong and China to the role, helping brands and agencies harness the power of programmatic advertising, data and AI to drive better outcomes for their businesses,” he said.
