The March edition of famous men’s magazine Playboy is the first edition to not feature topless female models, but don’t start an angry topless revolution Playboy fans- the Stolichnaya vodka adverts will be uncovered.
Vodka company Stoli has a premium, gatefold ad spot in the back of the Playboy magazine, designed by The Martin Agency. The ads include taglines like: “Here’s to leaving just a little to the imagination”; “The only topless photo in this edition” and “Unlike the Playmates, you can bring these beauties home”.
The Martin Agency’s creative director Neel Williams told Adage, the goal of the advert was to show “a little wit and humor” while also applauding Playboy’s no-nude decision.
“Creatively, from a messaging standpoint, we certainly wanted to applaud that decision and be supportive of it, as a like-minded brand,” Williams said.
