B&T’s newest awards program was in town earlier this evening and, not to brag, but boy did it live up to the hype!
Presented by the fab folk over at Finecast, Best of the Best was brought to life this year to recognise the most incredible of talented individuals in the pool of advertising, marketing, media and technology.
The event was, of course, a virtual affair, with hundreds of attendees hunching over their laptops to honour and recognise the standouts of the industry we all know and love.
Leading proceedings as MC was award-winning ABC journalist and Wiradjuri man Stan Grant, with Finecast’s global chief growth officer, Nicola Lewis, tuning in from all the way over in Barcelona for an inspiring keynote.
Also making a virtual appearance was F1 racing star and Optus’ chief of optimism, Daniel Ricciardo, who was a finalist in the Executive Leader category.
Ricciardo offered some premature congratulations to all the winners, and some words of encouragement for all adlanders. Sadly though, there was no shoey.
A grand total of 25 gongs were handed out to the cream of the industry’s crop during the virtual ceremony (there were plenty of smiles even tears of joy), with Karla Henwood the big winner on the night.
The executive creative producer of Squeak E. Clean Studios not only took out the Mentor category, but also finished up with the Grand Prix – Adlander of the Year title.
Meanwhile, industry favourite and founder of The Nest Consultancy, Greg “Sparrow” Graham, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award, and BlueScope’s Ant Schillaci earned the People’s Choice award.
