Fairfax Media’s recently spun-off real estate business has announced a four-year platinum partnership with Cricket Australia (CA).
The partnership will see Domain be the presenting partner of men’s Test cricket over four years, which includes the next Ashes series to be hosted in Australia, and will become the official real estate partner of CA.
Domain has also secured the rights to cricket.com.au as the Cricket Australia LIVE scoreboard partner (web and mobile app).
Furthermore, the partnership involves a 12-month rolling program of social media, content and app integrations across the CA platforms.
The deal coincides with Domain’s acting executive chairman unveiling planned changes to the company’s ad sales teams.
In an email to staff, Nick Falloon said Domain’s media sales team were briefed on plans to streamline the company’s digital sales channels by adopting a fully programmatic advertising offering.
Domain also plans to expand its residential developer sales team, which will occur through absorption of sales representation for Fairfax Media’s metropolitan mastheads The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review.
Furthermore, Domain plans to utilise the specialist print sales teams at Fairfax for non-real estate and education advertising sales. As part of this, Domain will also explore potential arrangements with third-party outbound sales specialist The Spiel Group.
Falloon said there is expected to be a number of redundancies across Domain Media, offset partly by the creation of new roles and some redeployment opportunities.
“The new structure will see Domain move to the forefront of an evolving digital advertising landscape and provide greater focus and capacity to grow our core property businesses,” he said.
