Domain, a leading property marketplace, has announced the appointment of John Foong to the role of chief revenue officer.

Foong (pictured) will be joining the Domain team as of 27 September 2021 replacing Domain’s group director, commercial, Tony Blamey.

Since 2019, Foong served as global director of account management and customer engineering at Uber in California where he has led multiple growth, collaboration and partnership initiatives across Uber’s business customers.

Prior to Uber, he spent 12 years at Google holding a range of go-to-market leadership roles, including leading Google Cloud’s multi-billion-dollar global partner/agent sales team.

Foong will be responsible for the growth of Domain’s marketplace portfolio spanning Residential, Commercial, Developer and Media and Agent Solutions as well as Go to Market, Sales Operations and Customer Experience.

“Property is a sacred and special part of Aussie life. I’m proud to be returning home to work for an organisation so committed to helping Australians make great property decisions from buying, financing, renting, selling, and every moment in between,” said Foong.

“It’s been great to see Domain accelerate its digital first solutions to support customers and agent partners at every stage of the property journey. In addition to leveraging my global experience in these areas, I am particularly excited about engaging with our hardworking agent community, and developing Domain’s 350-person strong sales team as leaders and expert advocates.”

In welcoming John Foong to the team, Jason Pellegrino, managing director & CEO at Domain commented: “I am thrilled to welcome John to Domain. I am excited to see a global leader of John’s calibre return to Australia, bringing with him the experience that our business needs right now, as we continue the next phase of our marketplace strategy.”

“John’s outstanding track record in rapidly scaling large digital solution sales and customer success teams will be invaluable as we double down on the support, we offer our customers and the agent community. John’s decades of experience in property investing, combined with a history of leading high-performance teams, and developing technology-savvy talent will be a great asset to Domain and the Australian property industry.”

Pellegrino continued, “I’d also like to acknowledge the contribution and achievements of Tony during his time at Domain. Over nearly 20 years, Tony’s career journey at Fairfax and Domain has been deeply aligned with Domain’s success. We thank him for the critical role he has played in Domain’s successful journey to date and wish him well for his future career.”

Domain recently announced its results for the 2021 Financial Year, revealing a significant boost in net profit after tax, which grew 66 per cent to 34.3 million year-on-year. The property marketplace also said that it will repay the Federal Government’s Job Keeper Scheme.
