Sitecore Commerce MVP, Rameez Akram, has joined Deloitte Digital.

A senior software engineer, architect and tech leader, Akram has built a strong reputation as a Sitecore specialist with a strong focus on e-commerce, using his expertise to work on major digital commerce integration projects for Australian telcos and leading retailers.

He was recognised as a Sitecore Commerce MVP in 2018 and 2019, one of just 18 in the world, and two in Australia.

Cameron Walker, fellow MVP, Principal with Deloitte Digital and the national technology leader of its Sitecore team, said: “Rameez joining us creates a step change in our already strong Sitecore Commerce capability, complementing our existing expertise in Technology and Strategy. His great breadth of experience and knowledge in the commerce space is rightly recognised by all in the Sitecore community and we are looking forward to the value he will bring to both our clients and our relationship with Sitecore.”

Troy Outtram, Sitecore MVP, Director with Deloitte Digital and the national Sitecore alliance leader said: “Having Rameez join Cam and I as the third MVP shows our commitment to our platinum sitecore partnership. We are looking to really expand both capability and offerings in 2020 and Rameez will be a big part of that.”

Akram said he is looking forward to leveraging Deloitte’s scale and expertise in multiple technologies to build a stronger Sitecore Experience Commerce offering.

“I’m particularly excited about working with the multitude of talent across Deloitte Digital and the wider firm,” he said. “For example, Deloitte Digital has deep experience in voice recognition technology. As I spoke about at the recent Sitecore Symposium, voice-driven commerce, through devices such as Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub, is on a massive growth trajectory. These devices are going to be in people’s homes all the time. How do brands capitalise on that from a customer experience and commerce perspective?”

Growth in online competition and the changing purchasing patterns of consumers have led to a need for businesses to improve the customer experience across physical and digital purchasing channels, allowing a consumer to seamlessly interact with the business online and offline.

Experience commerce, a focus on the end-to-end e-commerce journey using personalised content, can assist business in making the most of each customer interaction, strengthening customer loyalty and revenue generation opportunities. A 2018 Deloitte Access Economics report for Sitecore found that a shift of five per cent of customers’ purchases to digital resulted in a 3.5 per cent rise in revenue growth.

Deloitte Digital is a Sitecore Platinum Solution Partner and has delivered numerous enterprise-grade Sitecore solutions for some of Australia’s largest organisations, including VicRoads, Telstra Super, Service Victoria and AustralianSuper. Recognition by Sitecore as Partner of the Year, over 10 MVP awards and five Site of the Year Awards, reinforces Deloitte Digital’s reputation as the premier Sitecore partner in Australia.
