David Attenborough Fans Slam GMB Presenter Who Criticised Him On Air

Outraged David Attenborough fans have taken to social media to lambaste a presenter on Good Morning Britain who criticised the legendary environmental warrior.

Known around the world for his work in environmental conservation the 92-year-old eco icon has amassed a number of fans over the years, so when a UK TV host criticised him last week on air, viewers were not just shocked, but furious.

The incident occurred during a debate with Dr Gail Bradbrook about the climate change campaigns in London.

The co-founder of the Extinction Rebellion protest was on GMB to discuss climate change and her concern for young people’s futures.

Chatting to presenter Richard Madeley, Bradbrook claimed a catastrophic environmental crisis was impending, saying: “Sir David Attenborough said the collapse of this civilisation could happen soon.”

However, Madeley was not swayed and took a swipe at Attenborough and his credibility.

He said: “He’s not a saint you know. He’s just a broadcaster.”

It didn’t take long for viewers and fans to take to social media in Attenborough’s defense, with some even suggesting Madeley should issue a public apology for the insult.

One user said: “Richard Madeley is an egotistical TV presenter with as much knowledge as a pickled onion, while criticising David Attenborough, a very educated, intelligent, knowledgeable, naturalist.”

Another posted: “Richard Madeley seems to think he knows more about #ClimateBreakdown than Sir David Attenborough, so perhaps we should let RM present an environmental program to show us all there’s nothing to worry about? Or, better still, perhaps he should actually research the topic.”

The natural history expert has been making waves around the world this past month following the premiere of his groundbreaking Netflix documentary, Our Planet.
