Marketing events group Comexposium has absorbed its New Zealand joint venture partner MTS to deliver an expanded event solutions business across the Trans-Tasman.
The deal will see Ryf Quail (pictured above) return to Sydney to lead Comexposium Australian and Kiwi team, while his current MTS team remains in place as Comexposium employees.
While the business in Australia is well established through its ad:tech, iMedia, MMS and E-Commerce One to One brands, the New Zealand JV has only been in place for four years, which now delivers five events.
By combining the two entities, Comexposium now wholly owns nine events across Australia and New Zealand, making it the biggest marketing and innovation event business across the Trans-Tasman.
Paul Lee, Comexposium’s CEO for the Asia-Pacific region, said: “The Comexposium team has been working successfully with Ryf and the New Zealand team.
“Comexposium, in a JV with MTS, has grown quickly and is now delivering five strong events in the New Zealand market.
“In that time, Ryf has been a strong steward of our brands in both New Zealand and Australia, acted as content director across ANZ, as well as driving great commercial outcomes as a trusted partner of our business.
“As such, I look forward to Ryf taking the reins in Australia as managing director of Comexposium ANZ and seeing the business scale to new heights to better meet customers’ needs.”
Commenting on his new role, Quail said: “I am very excited to be coming back to Australia with Comexposium. The role will allow me to remain close to the Kiwi market as well, which is great, as I have really loved my time in New Zealand.
“The ad:tech, iMedia, MMS formats are proven winners around the world, and we have the team in place across ANZ to grow the business substantially.
“Comexposium has scale, strong global networks in content, sound commercial partnerships, and strong regional and global lea leadership, all of which will be critical as we drive the business forward in 2018 and beyond.”
