Christine Watts, formerly of Wunderman and 303 MullenLow, has joined as business partner, and will spearhead the agency’s new business efforts alongside MD and co-founder Chiquita King. Watts brings a people-first approach and extensive experience working with global brands like Microsoft and Pernod Ricard in Australia and New York.
Watts said: “I’ve been dreaming of working at a company that is full of like-minded people who are looking to do good in the world. I thought I would need to leave the agency side and move into a not-for-profit or company whose mission aligned with my own. Never did I imagine that there was an agency like Cocogun – bursting with extremely talented individuals who are focused on creating spectacular work for their clients through ideas that matter. I found my unicorn, and I am so stoked to be joining the team.”
King said: “Christine is all class and is someone we are proud to represent our brand. She pays attention to the little things, has strategic nous and is the perfect combination of excellence and pragmatism.”
Straddling both business and creative disciplines, former APAC marketing and communications lead at Macquarie and Jawun Indigenous Corporate Partnerships Alumni, Kirsty Reynolds has joined Cocogun in a newly-created, hybrid role as business director/copywriter, working closely with both King and creative partner, Ant Melder.
Of the unique role, Reynolds said: “I’m so excited to be taking on the hybrid role that CK and Ant created for me. It’s the perfect blend of creativity, innovation, and purpose. I love being on both sides of the fence – working with clients directly – and being in the thick of ideation with the creative team.”
Strengthening the creative department further, is Cocogun’s new designer, Shev Tan. Tan brings a unique blend of skills to the role including design, illustration, editing of video and motion graphics.
Tan said: “It’s a joy to be a part of a team that prioritises doing good work with a good heart. I’m excited to see where this opportunity takes me.”
Melder said: We’re thrilled to welcome Christine, Kirst and Shev – their diverse creative, corporate and client backgrounds bring some brilliant new perspectives to the team. On the verge of our fifth birthday, this is a really exciting time at Cocogun.”
