“Bug-ger!” Young Boy Eats Two Flies During Live Cross On 10’s The Project

It’s been bushfires one week and massive floods the next. And Tuesday night’s episode of 10’s The Project wanted to capture how rural Australia was coping with the weather extremes by doing a live cross to a farming family of four.

However, keen-eyed viewers were less interested in what the family had to say about climate change and their newly wet paddocks and more to do with flies crawling across the young boy’s face.

With the apparent dexterity of a chameleon, the young lad not only managed to swallow one fly but soon followed it up with another.

As these things do, footage of the young lad’s insect diet soon made it onto social media.

“How is it that flies can dodge a fast moving hand but they can’t dodge a slow moving tongue?” enquired one.

While another praised the boy’s digestion skills: “When you’re in a drought, flies can be an important source of protein.”
