Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures and one of the world’s most influential leaders in purpose-driven travel, has become the latest world-class speaker to join the Cairns Crocodiles, presented by Pinterest, content slate.
Poon Tip is best known for building G Adventures from a small start-up into a global travel brand operating in more than 100 countries, while redefining what responsible and community-based tourism can look like at scale. His work has demonstrated that travel can be both commercially successful and a powerful force for good.
From the outset, Poon Tip set out to change how people see the world, and how the world benefits from travel. Through initiatives such as Planeterra, the non-profit foundation he helped establish, G Adventures has supported hundreds of community tourism projects globally, helping local people build sustainable livelihoods through tourism.
Pippa Chambers, content director of Cairns Crocodiles, said Poon Tip’s addition reflects the the calibre and range of voices being brought together for 2026.
“Bruce brings a perspective shaped by experience, values and real-world impact,” Chambers said. “He’s built something that resonates far beyond travel, and we’re excited to have that thinking represented on our stage.”

A passionate advocate for social enterprise, Poon Tip has been widely recognised for his leadership, earning global awards for entrepreneurship, sustainability and business innovation. He is also the author of Looptail: How One Company Changed the World by Reinventing Business, which chronicles the creation of a values-led company in a profit-driven world.

In addition to appearing on the mainstage, Poon Tip will also take part in the newly launched Travel Track at Cairns Crocodiles, which debuts on 12 May 2026. Formerly known as TravelDAZE, the stream brings tourism, aviation, hospitality and destination marketing into the core program, delivered in continued partnership with Travel Weekly.
His addition further strengthens the 2026 line-up, bringing a globally respected voice from the travel and social enterprise world to an event known for uniting creativity, business and culture.
“The line-up we’re building for 2026 spans worlds, from The Chemical Brothers’ visual director Adam Smith to New York Times bestselling author Tigest Girma,” Chambers said. “Everything we curate has our delegates at the heart, bringing together voices that challenge thinking, inspire creativity and feel genuinely relevant.”
