Brittany Higgins has now spoken out after reports surfaced that Bruce Lehrmann has called in the big guns and hired a top defamation lawyer.
News.com.au reported that in a statement posted on social media, Higgins said that she would be prepared to testify as a witness in “any potential civil cases brought by Mr Lehrmann.”
Higgins broke her silence after reports emerged that Lehrmann had enlisted Mark O’Brien, a defamation lawyer in Sydney.
O’Brien works at the firm that represented Ben Roberts-Smith during his incredibly costly defamation trial that is still waiting for an outcome.
As reported yesterday, Lehrmann is considering suing 10’s The Project and Lisa Wilkinson for defamation. He is also reportedly considering suing The ABC for defamation because it broadcasted a live speech from Brittany Higgins.
So far, no concern notices have been sent as it is assumed Lehrmann’s legal time is pouring over two years worth of media coverage before making any big legal moves.
