Breville has launched ‘Because great coffee matters’, a new category campaign created by independent creative agency Emotive, celebrating the outsized role a great cup of coffee can play in everyday life.
In a category where convenience and ease are table stakes, Breville is making the case for what it’s all for: great tasting coffee.
Our days are full of everyday moments. But when coffee is done properly, it can become a circuit breaker from all of that. A few minutes of anticipation, aroma, sound and taste that can make an ordinary morning feel anything but ordinary.
Yet while people love great coffee, many are less confident about making it themselves, believing it takes the skill of a barista to get it right. The campaign sets out to shift that feeling from hesitant to inspired, showing that something glorious is within reach every morning.
That thought is brought to life in the launch film, ‘Glorious Coffee’, with an original score composed by award-winning sound studio Rumble and performed live on set by a 25-piece ensemble from Sydney’s Metropolitan Orchestra. As the coffee builds, so does the music, with every grind, dose, extraction and pour driving the performance towards its crescendo.
The orchestra gives scale to a feeling coffee lovers already know: when you get coffee just right, it’s more than a caffeine hit. It’s a small moment of pure enjoyment. A symphony of the senses hiding in plain sight, every morning. The campaign launches globally across a full ecosystem of work, including the hero film, consideration films, social carousels, behind-the-scenes content and always-on social, all united by one simple belief: Because great coffee matters.
Noel Burchill, general manager, global brand at Breville, said: “We believe great coffee has the power to make everyday moments extraordinary. For more than 90 years, Breville has combined engineering expertise with a focus on what matters most: great-tasting coffee. Our espresso machines are built on the same principles as professional machines. This campaign, ‘Because Great Coffee Matters’ brings this belief to the heart of our brand around the world.”
Gavin McLeod, CCO at Emotive, said: “There’s this tiny moment in the morning when everything else can disappear. The coffee smells right, sounds right, tastes right and, for a few minutes, life is pretty glorious. We wanted to make that feeling impossible to miss. So we gave it a 25-piece orchestra.”
Kyra Bartley of COUSIN, who directed the campaign, said: “Giving every tiny step of making a coffee its own live orchestral moment is gloriously over the top, which is exactly why I loved it. Shaping that with 25 incredible musicians, in a beautifully crafted set that felt like a little world of its own, made it a really special one to be part of.”
The campaign was created by Emotive, with production by COUSIN, and will roll out across Breville | Sage global markets through 2026 and beyond.
